Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mancherial, Participated as a resource centre on “Alternate crop plan meeting (Crop Diversification) for the ensuing yasangi season, 2021-22” on 25th October, 2021 at O/o. District Collector, Mancherial. Smt. Bharati Hollikeri, I.A.S, Hon’ble District Collector & Magistrate, Mancherial district addressed the gathering and explained the importance and benefits of pulse and oilseed crops cultivation for sustainable income and soil health development. She requested the farmers to convert their paddy area to suggested crops as well as vegetable cultivation. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) has explained about the mono cropping of paddy and different soil deterioration scenarios related to paddy cropping the zone wise alternate crops recommended by the PJTSAU different alternative crops in Yasangi such as, Sunflower, Sesame, Chickpea and Groundnut instead of regular paddy crop. Suggested the farmers to diversify the total area of yasangi paddy with alternate crops with package of practices along with PPT presentation on Crop Diversification in Mancherial district. Sri. A total of 70 numbers of agriculture extension personnel of Mancherial district were participated. Simultaneously Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection) has participated as a resource person for the crop diversification meeting at KB Asifabad district, Sri. Rahul Raj P.S, I.A.S, Hon’ble District Collector & District Magistrate, KB Asifabad district graced the occasion.
